TOPCON Contributed GPS Products to State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping for Victims of Earthquake in Sichuan Province, China

The State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping (SBSM) has contributed 50,000 drawings to Chinese government for the reconstruction support of the worst earthquake in Sichuan Province, China. In addition, 3,000 of drawings are now newly designed by using photogrammetry. The primary mission of SBSM ordered by Chinese government is to make a map showing one 20-thousandth and 50-thousandth of devastated area as rapidly as possible. Using GPS is considered to be the best method to achieve this mission. Therefore, TOPCON has decided to donate nine sets of highly precise GPS receivers for the continuous observation system network in devastated areas, Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu Province, China.
