Topcon established a new factory, Topcon HK (BD) LTD., in Bangladesh (Chittagong), to improve cost competitiveness by holding manufacturing bases globally, and opening ceremony was held on June 13, 2012.

The Company used to manufacture optical lens units at Topcon Optical (Dongguan) Technology Ltd., however, a part of production was transferred to the new factory so that Topcon Optical (Dongguan) Technology Ltd. enables to accelerate production capacity of optical components for Smart Infrastructure and Eye Care products. This establishment also contributes to optimize Topcon’s global production.

The new factory started with manufacturing optical components for copy machines, and other types of components are planned to be added in the future.
