Response to COVID-19 (Update May 7, 2020)

First of all, we express our sincerest condolence to people and their families suffering from COVID-19. We truly hope for recovery of the patients.

In such a harsh environment, Topcon has been taking actions under the policy placing the safety of our employees, their families, and all of our stakeholders as our utmost priority.

At business facilities outside Japan, Topcon has been proactively implementing measures such as doing telework and restriction of business trips based on the orders of each countries to secure the health and safety of all concerned parties and to minimize the negative impact on the supply of our products and services. We have been striving to collect information about the rapidly changing circumstances.

In terms of business activities in Japan, commuting at offf-peak hours and working from home have been implementing since the end of February. At present, approximately 80% of our employees are doing telework to meet the government’s guidelines and this contingency measures will continue until May 6th.

The company strives to continue business activities to minimize the negative impact while the highest priority remains the safety of various stakeholders and the prevention of the further spread of the disease.

Topcon will continue current work shifts until May 31 due to the extension of declaration of state of emergency by the Government of Japan.
