Topcon to Reorganize Finetech Business

April 1, 2012

Topcon Corporation (Itabashi-ku, Tokyo; Norio Uchida, President) announces that the company has discontinued its Finetech Business Unit by transferring four promising businesses to a wholly owned subsidiary, and starts operation under new business structure, as of April 1.
Topcon first announced this change in policy in January 2012, at the time the company announced third-quarter results. Moving forward, the Finetech Business will focus on four areas projected to have the biggest potential markets: substrate projection steppers, hybrid electron microscopes, optical measurement, and eco-device inspection systems. This move will contract the scope of business to Topcon Technohouse Corporation, allowing the company to concentrate resources on its Positioning and Eye Care Business segments.
We ask for your continued support and patronage.
