New Training Center is now opened for improving operators’ skills and knowledge in ICT-aided construction.

Our training programs contribute to the acceleration of reconstruction works in Tohoku after the Great East Japan Earthquake, in addition to learning practical operations of GNSS receivers and total stations.

We have just opened new training center in Fukushima Prefecture, called “Shirakawa Training Center” on September 9.

The center covers wide area of 130m×40m (5,200m2), which allows a number of construction machines, under training, workable at one time. The center is operated by our sales subsidiary, Topcon Sokkia Positioning Japan, and provides comprehensive training programs for our users to be capable for immediate assignment as well as improving skills of operating machinery along with ICT-aided construction process flow.

Highly trained skills to operate construction machines are required in the reconstruction works, especially in decontamination works in Fukushima which require operators to excavate polluted soils evenly.

We also have a classroom facility in the site, which accommodates 20 people with a variety of seminars from basic to advanced programs.

Accessibility is another big feature – this center is placed in convenient location, about 1.5h from Tokyo and 1h from Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture by bullet train.

We are confident that this big training center is the first and only one educational venue, among manufactures of surveying and construction equipment in Japan and contributes much to improve practical skills and knowledge of engineers, surveyors and professionals of our construction industry in Japan.
